what am i supposed to think when someone says "and you think this is supposed to be incentive for me to take you on date?"

obviously not have any incentive to be their friend.

ALSO, why would you need incentive to take someone on a date? can't you just do it because you genuinely enjoy hanging out and like the person? or am i being too basic here?
